“A society continues to grow when old people of today plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.”
As Mutanda Farms, we are committed to achieving sustainable development, and believe strongly in promoting environmentally, socially and economically sustainable development that encourages and promotes a safe and healthy working environment on our properties, while also promoting increased opportunities and an improvement in the livelihoods of the communities in which we operate.
Continued investment in the communities surrounding our operations is a priority for Mutanda Farms, and this is evidenced by the completion of a number of projects, aimed at uplifting communities and encouraging improved living standards and access to essential amenities and services.
Projects such as the building and equipping of schools, the provision of fresh, clean drinking water, infrastructure development and sponsorship of other community projects, further reinforces our commitment to ensuring our social impact is tangible and felt in the lives of the people that live around our farms.
Environmental stewardship of our different farms and properties is something we take seriously, and we continually strive to ensure that through pro-active, careful management of the properties we operate on, we minimize potential negative impacts of commercial agriculture and mitigate future risks to the environmental integrity of our farms.
Our continued investment and focus on maintaining the health and integrity of our properties is visible and proven, and we continue to take a proactive approach to ensuring any potential negative environmental impact is limited and carefully managed.
All Mutanda Farms properties and projects are carefully monitored by the Zambian Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) and we consistently maintain high compliance levels, with all statutory requirements.
